Cosequin DS Chewable Tablets, Dog Joint Health, 132 Ct, NUTRAMAX

This double strength formulation is intended for dogs 20 lbs and over, but may be used for smaller dogs by cutting the tablet in half.

Recommendation as a supplement during the initial administration period is 6 Weeks. Most animals should respond within this period. Improvement on Cosequin can range from gradual to dramatic. If the improvement is gradual, it may go unnoticed by the owner.

Ingredients:
Glucosamine hydrochloride (derived from shellfish), sodium chondroitin sulfate (derived from bovine cartilage), microcrystalline cellulose, artificial roast beef flavor, manganese ascorbate, natural and artificial cheese flavor, mixed glycosaminoglycans, dried brewers yeast, magnesium stearate, and natural garlic flavor.

Glucosamine HCL min. 500 mg
Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate min. 400mg
Manganese (Ascorbate) min. 5mg

Directions for Use:
The amount can be increased at any time depending on the pet's needs. If the pet does not respond as well when the level is decreased, then return to previous level. Remain on this amount for a month, then try again to gradually reduce. Sometimes an every other day amount or lowering the amount by 1/2 capsule rather than one capsule can be successful. Some pets will maintain at a lower amount during the summer months than the winter months. Activity level can also vary the requirements. In times of high physical demand, pets may require more Cosequin.

Cosequin DS double strength can be used on animals under 25 lb., however, 1/2 capsule increments must be used. Regular strength can also be used for maintenance of dogs weighing 25-49 lb. that maintain below one capsule daily of double strength.

The capsules can be pulled apart and the contents sprinkled on the pet's food. Wet or moist food works best. As an alternative, pets can be pilled or the capsules administered by wrapping in a small piece of food.
